Im getting a Coleman Crawdad fishing boat that is about 225 lbs so i need to know if a 30lb Minn Kota trolling motor will push it well enough. If not how many lbs?


i just moved to vegas, i have a 9'6" pvc boat with an electric trolling motor, does it have to be registered in nevada just like a regular powerboat? i will just be using it on smaller lakes, ponds, streams, and rivers.thanks for any help!!

its only a 12 ft poly boat for fresh water the tubing is used to support the chairs


I use a 30 lb thrust minn kota on a coleman crawdad. after a while the cables get real hot around the clips. I have replaced the clips and have a good connection. brand new battery also. any ideas??

i'm looking to redo this boat as i only use it on small lakes/ponds it should do fine. the gas motor that i previously used no longer runs. i'm looking for something that will let this boat cruise easily around with some decent battery life. the motors that i'm looking at are minn kota endura 30/36/55.
thanks for the responses... i think i'll get with the 55 since i'll be doing some river fishing too. i have a ever start maxx-29, 125ah battery. hopefully it'll do the trick!
