I have an uncle living in California who has owned a AR-15A2 Sporter II 9mm Carbine (R6420) since April of 1994, and due to California's AR15 laws, they require:

*A 10-round magazine
*Magazine lock (aka a "bullet button")
*Off-list stripped lower receiver.

I was wondering if this would apply to this rifle even if it does not fire the .223 round and instead shoots a 9mm.

Our particular rifle is/has:

*chambered in 9x19mm
*An unchanged magazine release (the magazine is still able to be detached w/o a bullet button tool)
*2 20-round magazines, and 1 32-round magazine. (All for 9mm)
*factory Colt 9mm stripped lower receiver

So far, this rifle has undergone no changes from when he purchased it 16 years ago. It does NOT have an off-list lower receiver, mag lock, or 10-round magazine. Since this rifle was purchased before the AR-15 ban, I was worried if is this rifle still legal.

If not, does anyone know where they sell off-list receivers? I checked with STAG ARMS, and they don't seem to have any 9mm lowers. I'm planning to sell the Colt lower, and the magazines, and I already know where to get the 10-rounder 9mm magazines and the magazine lock, but before I do, I still need to know if it is still legal.

Thanks for commenting! All relevant replies will be appreciated, and please answer soon!
Please don't tell me "Oh, but the 9mm carbine is for sale to law enforcement only." I completely understand this term of sale, and we purchased this long before Colt made it law enforcement-only.

So I have a Glock 29 10mm. I was trained on a Colt .45 and had an issued Beretta and HK. I shoot out the Weaver, right handed. I'm 6'-2" and 215ish. I know what limp wristing is. I'm familiar with proper grips and stances. I don't understand why my gun shoots about 12-16 inches low at 5-10 yards. I bought a Bear Arms barrel thinking that would change. It didn't. I use Remington Hydra Shoks in 200 grain for self defense. I practice with 230 grain Double Tap Eliminators. At least 25 people have fired this gun and everyone agrees that it shoots way low. So I don't think it's just me.
P.S. I have a Crimson trace laser. It's dialed in but is nowhere near the sight picture through the trijicicons.
Yeah, factory Trijicicon night sight, non adjustable. I've heard Glock has the worst service in the biz. I haven't dealt with them yet. But even if you don't use the sights or the laser, like a-glance down the barrel-almost a hip shot, it drops like a rock. This is my first Glock and I know that the barrel not being fully supported can attribute...But crap, a 12" MAO in 5 yards is not acceptable.
My Crimson Trace is almost maxed out in the drop adjustment. Something's not right. It's 3rd generation, brand new. Not the 4th with the crecent notches on the slide.
jakflak... it cold be what you're talking about. It does go left slightly (an inch or two at 10-20') but drops at least a foot in that distance. I haven't had this issue with any other hand gun in the past. With so many other people having fired it with the same result, I think I'll call their number in the morning.
All shots group cnsitancy. My sights are factory installed Tricicon night sight. They don't adjust. They are a cmposite material like my guns frame that are pressed into the steel slide. The serial # is 6999SW if that helps, G29 10mm.
as far as I can see, you can't botch the install. The sights are only made for the subcomct and they're pressed in, not screwed. It's a factory job. I ordered it from Glock via a class three gun seller. The case was factory sealed when I got it.
All shots group consitantly. My sights are factory installed Tricicon night sights. They don't adjust. They are a composite material like my guns frame that are pressed into the steel slide. The serial # is 6999SW if that helps, G29 10mm.
10 minutes...Yeh My first thought was it's me or my shooting style. But a lot of people have fred the weapon. I've tried with the Weaver, off hand, single dominate hand, using a bench, sitting and prone. Every time and every one shoots it about 10-12" low and an inch or two to the left. The other people that have shot it include former military and a current state trooper. All same results. I can't locate a laser bore sighter in 10mm automatic.

i am 18 and live outside city limits and would like to know what fire arms i can have in my truck such as my 41 long colt, AR15, hunting rife or my 20ga shot gun

From Master PLZ Comment

Okay I am writing and story and its called "Master of Ravens"

My little brother is nine years old the first time I decide to kill him.

During the night, snow fell over the jagged wreckage of our land. In the morning I realize he will follow me outside if I call to him. Like an awkward-limbed colt heall stumble through the snowdrifts, and I can leave him to the ice and wind in the shadow of a three-walled building. No one will see me. Our father will think he has gotten lost on his own. I too will cry when they find his body. When the mourning is done, however, I will be my father's true and only son. a?Cam,a he will call to me, and Iall kneel down before him.

My father. Master of Ravens. Crow-Runner. The Blackbird King.

I pull on my winter boots, knot the coarse laces.

My little brother asks, a?Cam. Where are you going?a

a?Out,a I tell him.

a?To play in the snow?a

a?To look at it.a

When he was born, my little brother was named Taliesin. His is a world without myths, of course. Such things perished in the great fires; books, histories, all the old words. Still, the name has come to mean bright power, shining brow. Cameron means crooked nose.

Outside the sun is bright on the snow and I shield my eyes against its glare. My little brother hasnat dressed himself properly for the cold. As he shivers he sneaks glances at my face, to see if I notice. I pretend not to.

a?Come on,a I say.

My little brother is only nine years old but he is stubborn, determined. I will be fourteen next fall and my legs are much longer than his, though our father says theyall always be so. Besides, my mother was a gypsy. I was born during my fatheras wilder days, into motor oil and engine grease. It means I am strong, but the gypsies are tinkers. I can never inherit my fatheras birds.

Frail, spoiled Taliesin, who killed his frail, spoiled mother to be born, stumbles at my side. I catch his arm. Donat die yet, I think. Itas too soon. Donat die.

I suppose Iam surprised when he follows so far without asking to rest. At last, when our fatheras home can no longer be seen over our shoulders, he crouches down and stares off sullenly into the low distance.

a?Stopping now?a I ask him.

He doesnat answer.

a?I brought lunch,a I say.

He still refuses to talk, but his stomach will get the better of him. I leave him where he is to clear the snow off a crumbling wall, and soon enough he appears around the corner to watch me eat.

How will I do it? I wonder. I could pretend weare playing a game and abandon him, covering the tracks we made on my way home. Yet the chances of him being found or of somehow finding his way back are too strong. What will I do when my father knows I left him to the snow, or when my little brotheras accusations drive me into exile?

a?Fine,a I say, after heas eaten his fill of my food. a?Letas go.a

Colt 45 nickle plated SN# is in the 70,000 range. The top slide is a US&S Co. Blued. Whats it worth?

See here's my problem... I have a colt that needs to be halter broken but I'm pregnant so it's not safe for me to do it myself. My boyfriend and mom volunteered but they don't have any experience so I'll have to walk them through it. I also lost my round pen a few months ago due to a grass fire and I only have a small feeding pen, the colt is only used to me, and he doesn't like to have his face touched even by me. I'd hate to chute him but I'm thinking that may be the only way to get the halter on him without potentially getting my less experienced volunteers hurt in the process. I thought about getting my fiance to brush and feed and accustom the colt to him as well as train my fiance at the same time first but Stephen just doesn't have the time to do it as often as I do. Any ideas?

P.S. There are no other local trainers for me to hire. The closest one it 64 miles away and he wants an arm and a leg to come do it.
He's never been haltered before and he's 9 months. And he'll let anyone touch him all over including lifting his feet and tail and even spraying him with fly spray, he just shies his face away when you go to mess with his face... I'd consider it his only vice, he's so mild mannered otherwise with never a kick or a bite for anyone even small children.

Hey I just got a new colt-45 transparent airsoft gun for christmas. I got talked to by the police about my airsoft guns about a year ago.

I read an airsoft manual that says replica fire arms are not the clear airsoft guns... Is it legal to have an airsoft fight in my friends neghborhood?

I have extensive training with firearms. I have a custom carbine lengthed FAL in 308 and an AK. Both guns at close range I can out shoot any of the cops, military and private security I come into contact with. I usually can beat them with my iron sights while they have electronic sights, not to mention I am a lefty. I can even reload quicker with these ancient weapons than those with AR's. I live in the US so most people who do this kind of work run AR's.

I am thinking getting an AR and dumping the FAL or the AK. My thinking is that if I am this good with an AK or a FAL with a crappy and slow manual of arms and iron sights I can be AMAZING with an AR with an electronic sight such as an aimpoint.

I have no problem fighting with the fal or the ak within fifty yards but I have serious problem firing out at further distances and I think an AR would solve this. With a 1 in 7 twist barrel I can run heavier grained ammo and don't have to worry about the fact the AR is a lesser caliber weapon.

Am I Wrong?

The only hesitation I have is the AR platform, in all the weeklong or two day classes I have been in the AR's always go down. I have seen usually I have never had either my AK or FAL go down after the thousands and thousands of rounds I put through them. I would only buy a top tier AR like an LMT or a COLT but I am still weary of the system.
I would disagree with you about the break in period. They are BS. Look at any firearms produced by large companies that have serious shares in military and law enforcement circles. I purchase a gun, I run minimum five hundred rounds through it, any problems it goes back to the manufacturer.
"Fancy equipment" are force multipliers. Magnified scopes allow for more precise shooting as well as better target identification. Lasers allow for unconventional shooting positions such as using cover. Electronic scopes allow for quicker sighting, use of cover more effectively, use at low light situations.

Bro don't be jealous that I have like thirty thousand dollars of firearms training in the last two years not including travel expenses and ammunition.

What I'm asking if I have the right thinking that a better platform is worth it to dump these lesser platforms.
During the Falkans war british commands dumped the FAL for the AR15 firearm. I'm guessing cause it's a better platform
ar's in 762 39 don't run reliably enough scratch them

I own a Taurus judge (revolver) which chambers both .45 colt and .410 shot shells,
In a self defense situation,
If I were to fire #4 or #7 1/2 .410 bird shot from my drivers seat at my or the passenger side window (that would be closed) would there be any deflection coming back towards me or would there be a clean hole made

The Green Bay Packers are heading into their bye after a big win over the Indianapolis Colts in week seven, 34-14. Their defense is banged up with injuries, but that didn't stop them from getting two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns, and holding Peyton Manning and the Colt's offense to fourteen points. Aaron Rodgers went 75% passing with 186 yards and a touchdown. Ryan grant went 31 carries with 105 yards and a touchdown. Overall the packers dominated to colts in week 7 and with the bye in week 8 they will most likely get their starters back on defense, making in my oppinion a very strong Packer defense. Aaron Rodger's shoulder will most likely get healthy and, again my oppionion, will really cause a threat to the titans as he is very accurate and mobile, and with a healthy arm he will most likely cut them open sometime in the game.

The Tenessee Titans are heading into Monday Night Football in week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. They won their last game to the chiefs 34-10, and are the only team in the NFL with an undefeated record. Their main attack on offense is the run. They ran 332 yards last week and scored four touchdowns. Their defense held the opposing offense to ten points as well, but they were playing the Chiefs I might add. If they run the ball this well in week 9, the packers offense has to score a heck of a lot to win this game. The one thing the packers should be looking forward to is to mess up this Titan quarterback. Collins went 11-18 with 123 yards last week. Only 18 attempts? 61% passing? 123 yards? Not the best quarterback. If the packers can stop the run and force them to throw a little more than eighteen times, look for some costly interceptions. Even if they pass less than eighteen times, look for an interception because the packers secondary is pretty darn good, but it probably won't be that costly considering the Titans would be having success on the ground. Their defense is pretty good, only allowing ten points, but they WERE playing the chiefs, and the packers aren't a cup-cake offense. They'll have to try and stop Aaron Rodgers, who's on fire, and try and stop the wide reciever corps they have which is one of the best in the league. As for their run defense, they're not up against much, as Ryan grant is not playing that well this season. But, he is still a force of a running back to be reckoned with, and should be takin seriously.

Let's compare the posistions of two teams, shall we?

Quarter Back
Aaron Rodgers: His first full year as a starting quarterback is going very well. He is very mobile and can make plays WHEN THEY'RE THERE. He sometimes takes his eyes of the field, but he doesn't force anything, is VERY accurate, and is playing solid. A-.
Kerry Collins: Average. Some would say Aaron is average, but he might be a little ahead. Kerry is spot-on. When you think of the Titans, you think run, so you don't think of Collins, you think of Johnson and Williams. But Collins gets the job done when the Titans need it, buts that really it. B+.

Running Back:
Ryan Grant: He is definitley not doing as well as he did last year. He hasn't had a 4.0 game yet, and only has one touchdown. His vision isn't that good, and he isn't as explosive. But, in the second half of the season, that gaem against Indianapolis might bring the old Grant back to the Pack. Maybe... C
Chris Johnson: He is a very good back, and when paired up with Williams, they make the one of the best running games in the nfl. I don't know what to say, he's just very good. He's not Adrian Peterson, but's he's something. A.

Wide Recievers:
Packers: They have five of the best wide recievers and tight ends in teh Nfl. They can run, catch, and get open. They sure do make it easy for Aaron. A+.
Titans: Average. They don't make it easier for Kerry, but they don't make it harder either. C+.

O-Line:
Packers: They are average. They definitley can block for the pass ad run, but it's penalties and consistency they suffer in. If they play the way they did vs the colts, then they make a solid line. B.
Titans: You have to be pretty good if you block for 332 yards. It's not all Johnson, it's the line too. A.

D-Line:
Packers: They don't cause as much pressure as they shoud, with so much talent, but they still are a good line. They'll also get key linemen back after the bye, they hope. B+.
Titans: Great line. Even when they don't blitz, pressure is caused. A very good line that most offenses should fear. A-.

Secondary:
Packers: One of the best in the NFL. Great pass defenders, and keep their eyes on the ball so they can pick it off. Also, they have good speed, so they can cause a lot of defensive touchdowns when they want to. They also do a good job of keeping running backs from gaining BIG gains if they get throught the line. A+.
Titans: Great. Not AS good as the packers very talented secondary, but still very good. They intercept and pass block well, and also aren't like some secondaries who a
are amazing at pass blocking but can't tackle worth ****. A-.

I have the Packers and the Titans tied 3-3 in posistion grades. The titans are 6-0, and the packers are 4-3, but the packers have played a number of playoff teams, while the titans have played one or two. The titans have their hands full against the packers, and the packers have their hands full againts the Titans. Very hard choice and could be up for game of the week, depending what happens against the colts this week.

The packers need to step up and play a phenonamal football game like against Indianapolis, and the titans need to keep running the ball and find a way to get around the packer secondary. Most games that are predicted to be blowouts turn to 13-10, games predicted to be shootouts turn to be 41-6, and games that are predicted to be close turn to be 56-3. I don't want to predict this a close game and/or shootout, but I don't want to predict against it when that might as well be the turnout. I'll predict a v
ery well fought game by both teams, but the packers coming out on top, 41-17. That could be considered a blowout, but most of the packer points will be in the fourth quarter, and 10 of the titan points will be in the first half. Here's my box score:
Titans: 3-7-7-0
Packers: 7-7-13-14

I know that I sound like a cheesehead, and that I have a biased preview, but I'm a Lion fan, with the Broncos as my number 2 team, then the titans. Maybe I am a little mad that the titans are 6-0 while my lions are 0-6, but I think the titans, while still a very powerful team, haven't really proven themselves by winning against a strong team (yes, they played the lions), and the packers are that test. And I predict that they will fail. They are a still a solid team, but the packers, I think, will come out of tennessee with more points, therefore winning. Packers on season - 11-5. Titans on season - 13-3.

Thanks for reading and please comment!

Kerry Collins: Isn't doing terrible, isn't doing good. He doesn't get many attempts to prove himself, but that is becuase they have a great running game and becuase Kerry isn't the best. He isn't as mobile as rodgers, and definitley not as accurate. He doesn't make big plays, but doesn't throw interceptions too often (that might change in week 9). C-.

Running Back:
Ryan Grant: He is definitley not doing as well as he did last year. He hasn't had a 4.0 game yet, and only has one touchdown. His vision isn't that good, and he isn't as explosive.
Titans: Great. They let a quarter back go for 9/10 last week, and don't pick the ball as well as the packers, but overall a solid
secondary that's good enough to beat average quarterbacks. B+.

I have the Packers beating the Titans 4-2 in posistion grades. The titans are 6-0, and the packers are 4-3, but the packers have played a number of playoff teams, while the titans have played one or two. The titans have their hands full against the packers, and the packers have their hands full againts the Titans. That's one of the reasons I'm giving four predictions.

If the packers play like they did vs the colts and the line can keep the run game below 120 yards overall, I pick the Packers to win 41-10.

If the Packers play like the 4-3 team they are, and let go of the run, but the titans come to play like the packers are 0-7, then the packers win 37-24.

If the packers play like they did against tampa, and the titans running game plays like it did last week, then Titans win 31-14.

If Titans play like the 6-0 team they are and packers play like the 4-3 they are, Titans win 21-17.

I will be fair and give my
I will be fair and give my prediction of what I WILL think will happen, and not just leave you with four predictions. I belive the Packers will walk away with the win, 41-10, and will continue the season finishing with a 11-5 or 12-4 record while the Titans finish with a 12-4 or a 13-3 record.

On top of the barrel it sais NATIONAL ARMS N.Y. USA. The serial number is on the bottom of the grip, it's 151676. It's a top break .32, not a "teat fire". It's browned with black checkered grips. Colt bought National Arms of N.Y. in 1870, But this gun looks like the top breaks made in the early 1900s. Any Ideas?

i wasnt talking about the stephen king verison i was taling about a diff book and i was wondering if you liked it
it id nothing like the twilight you think i am talking about this is one i found at some store

His name was Johnny Unitas. The game was football. He is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to grace the gridiron. Johnny Unitas is to football like Hank Aaron is to baseball. He was such a great quarterback, that his greatest record is still unsurpassed. Johnny U, threw a touchdown pass every for 47 consecutive games. Although many football greats have come and gone, none have been able to break this record, dubbed a?the mount Everest of footballa?. He has been selected for the Pro- Bowl ten times, another record that has yet to be beaten. The runner up for this record is the current Indianapolis colts quarterback, Peyton Manning, with eight straight appearances. Among other achievements of Unitas, he has also been a three-time NFL champion, one time super bowl champion, a three time AP NFL MVP, a three time Pro bowl MVP, and received the Walter Payton man of the year award in 1970. a?The Golden Arma? started his football career for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1955. He was round 9, number 109 draft pick. He played for the San Diego Chargers in 1973, but really made a name for himself when he was drafted to play for the Baltimore Colts in 1956 ran by the legendary coach Weeb Ewbank. With leadership by Unitas, The Colts won the NFL championship in 1958 defeating the New York Giants 23-17 in the NFLas first ever overtime. This game versus the Giants is often referred to as a? the greatest game ever playeda?. After many a?just okaya? seasons, Ewbank was fired and was replaced by Bob Shula. Unitas finished the season with a career best 3,418 passing yards and also led in pass completions with 237. In 1968, the colts finally made it to Super Bowl III versus the New York Jets. One of the most talked about super bowls, due to a controversy with another one of footballs best, New York Jets quarterback, Joe Namath. Namath declared the Jets were going to win the game before it even started. Although Unitas was out the entire season with an injury, he came out to play in the game. The colts tasted a bitter defeat when the Jets beat the colts 16-7. Johnny U refusing to end his career without a super bowl win, lead the colts to Super bowl V in 1970 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Colts defeated the Cowboys in a nail biting 16-13 victory. A game much similar to Super Bowl XLII, the games victor was determined in the very last minuets. The underdog, took home the Lombardi trophy home to Baltimore. Super Bowl V is often referred to as a?The Blunder Bowla? due to the many mistakes made in the game by both teams. The Cowboys had a record ten penalties and four turnovers and the Colts turned the ball over seven times.. After this victorious season, Unitas never made it to the NFLas finale again, coming close in 1971 when the Colts played in the AFC title game versus the Miami dolphins. In 1973 Unitas was traded to the San Diego Chargers and retired from football in 1974. He finished his 17 NFL seasons with 2,830 completions in 5,186 passes for 40,239 yards and 290 touchdowns, with 253 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,777 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was the fist quarter back to throw for more than 40,000 yards in one season, in an era when the NFL only played 14 games a season. After his playing days were finished, Unitas married and raised a family in Baltimore, Maryland while he pursued a career in broadcasting. Although Unitas passed away in 2002 his legacy continues to live on. Retired Bears quarterback Sid Luckman was quoted "He was better than me. Better than Sammy Baugh. Better than anyone."

I recently purchased a Ruger Blackhawk revolver capable of firing both ACP and Long Colt ammunition.

I purchased it for use as a side-arm for bear hunting and was wondering which ammo is recommended to use.

What are the pros and cons of the 2 different types?

I'm used to seeing semi-auto/gas-operated pistols that look fairly short, like 3-5 inch barrels, with only old guns like revolvers ever any longer. In The Punisher, though, Castle has two Colt 1911's that look like they're 6-7 inches, which I've never seen before. Is there a company that makes them like that already? Do they maybe make the Mark 23 (the SOCOM), or a variation of it, with a longer barrel like that, since it's supposed to shoot 2" groups at 50 yards so it could be used by Special Forces as a "real" weapon? I'm just wondering, because, for one, I'm interested in fire-arms in general, and two, I might want a longer handgun when I go in the service, if I were to go into any of the Combat Arms MOS's If there were any real advantages to it, that is. And yes, I already thought about problems getting it out of the holster. That's why I would purchase a soft holster, cut some of the top of the front off of it, and keep the button snapped when I don't need it.

Just wondering (for anyone experienced in the use of fire-arms) If I was to say that someone opened fire with a Colt AR15 on live targets in a confined space like a cafe and shot 32 people, Killed 20 and injured 12 with the first 12 kills occuring within 15 seconds (each kill was with a single shot to the head) would you believe me? Is this possible? Becuase to me it seems a little far-fetched.
Also if you have any "credentials" such as your in the army, or your in SWAT etc. could you put that in your answer, thanks.
the reasons i ask is becuase this is apparently what happened in a massacre in Australia committed by a man with an IQ of 66, however as i said before this seems to far-fetched to be true.

Halliburton/Kellog were awarded jobs in both iraq wars, bosnia (clinton) vietnam without bidding. I would not have worked on the projects along with the rest of the civilians if halliburton would not have been "GIVEN" them. REAL multi-phase projects require surface, route , feasibility, geological, envrionmental SURVEYS that take 2 to 5 years. After a war, the project starts NOW. The company handling the project receives data such as troop locations, equipment depots, mine field locations, locations for training, air strips, etc. You can NOT turn that data over to a company like Technip. Regarding profiteering ? probably. Same thing happend in Bosnia - Clinton era....and do not forget the 7 billion dollar deal Clinton made between the saudis and boeing but I never hear anything about that...then you have LBJ who owned 55 percent of colt fire arms...they built parts for small arms used in Vietnam...

I am interested in buying one in .45 Colt. I would like to know what the sights are like, how accurate they are, how the trigger pull is, how easy/fast they are to reload, and how the general quality is.
