What makes the Colt M4 Carbine, and the Colt Model 727 Carbine, different weapons? What characteristics do they differ in? I know this is unlikely, but could they be the same weapon, designated in two different ways?

I am in the market for an AR15, but dont want to quite pay $1500 to $1800 for a colt. I like the bushmasters, and i know they are good guns, but they are about $200-$300 more than i would like to spend. Basically I would like to know what is the best, most reliable AR15 i could get for around $800-$1,000. I am looking at a stag, but don't know if they are any good. I also would like a M4 (carbine type style). And i like 5.56 instead of 223. Right know i am looking on atlanticfirearms.com. are they any good? How about Olympic firearms. I have owned a rifle since the age of 5, but this would be my first AR15, and I have only shot one once and really liked it. Any help will be appreciated. THank you in advance.

I want to buy a M4 Carbine rifle. I know colt only sells to the military and law enforcement. Is there any other manufacturer that sells the M4?
..and where can I find one?

Ive looked at the commercial section of the colt website but the guns in the military section are nicer

how does the Masada, which is a candidate to replace the M4, stand up against the M4 on things like fire power, durability/reliability, maintenance, handling, weight, etc.?
I guess the Masada can be fitted to fire the AK-47's 7.62 by 39 round with relative ease.

i just found out about this gun and it looks just like the M4 Carbine. Its made by Colt. So does that mean the M4 isn't made my COlt cuz im sure it is. Whats the difference about these to guns?? Also does anyone know if the M468 is made by Colt?

i am looking in to buying a M4 Carbine, and was wondering who makes the best one Colt, Smith and Wesson, Bushmaster......

is building your own more expensive?

1. P90 or MP5
2. G36C or M4 Carbine
3. M16A4 or AK-47
4. Uzi or Mini-scorpion
5. Dragunov or R700
6. Benelli M4 Super 90 or Benelli M3T
7. Colt Python or Desert Eagle

If there the same then which ones would you prefer?

Is the classic Colt M16 assault rifle still in use by many military forces in the world or has it been largely replaced by the smaller/compact M4 carbine? Anyway I guess the M4 would be easier to carry and handle maybe not jam as much.

Just for an Experiment..

first off is it even legal for a civilian to have a colt m4 carbine? and if it is, where can i buy one?
what about a good airsoft replica of a m4 carbine? where can i get one of them?

Why is it that in the subways or Grand Central station, counterterrorists are deployed carrying M4 or M16 carbine rifles?

#1 those rifles are large and frightening to regular Americans but to actual terrorists who are used to seeing AK-47's, they are a joke because the terrorist has been desensitized to the violet power of an assault rifle.

#2 A terrorist isn't going to start a shootout in Grand Central station or on the subway. A Terrorist is more likely to suicide bomb themselves and everyone near them, including the CT. What's the point of bringing a rifle to a bomb fight?

#3 Colt M4/M16 rifles are designed for combat at up to 300Meters. Why are we using carbines when the British use MP5 submachineguns which are more suited for a close quarters combat situation?

#4 i think a .223 (5.56mm) round in the event of a firefight is more likely to penetrate a perp and kill an innocent.

#5 i think our "troops" carry these weapons just to look cool. There is no practicality
